Understanding our refund and cancellation procedures

At Sound Speed Logistics LLC, we are committed to providing exceptional freight trucking services. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be issued for our services.

Service Cancellation

Cancellation by Customer

  • More than 24 hours before scheduled pickup: Full refund of service fees (100% refund)
  • 12-24 hours before scheduled pickup: 50% refund of service fees
  • Less than 12 hours before scheduled pickup: No refund available
  • After pickup has occurred: No refund available

Cancellation by Sound Speed Logistics

If we cancel a scheduled service due to operational issues, severe weather conditions, or circumstances beyond our control, you will receive a full refund (100%) of any prepaid service fees.

Service Issues and Compensation

Delivery Delays

  • Minor delays (1-3 hours): No refund, but service credit may be applied to future shipments
  • Significant delays (3-6 hours): 25% refund of service fees
  • Major delays (over 6 hours): 50% refund of service fees

Damaged or Lost Cargo

In the event of damaged or lost cargo, compensation will be handled according to our cargo insurance policy and the declared value of the shipment. Claims must be filed within 7 days of delivery or discovery of loss.

  • Full documentation and photographic evidence required
  • Investigation period: 5-10 business days
  • Compensation based on declared value and insurance coverage

    Approved refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days to the original payment method

Non-Refundable Items

The following items and services are non-refundable:

  • Fuel surcharges and additional fees
  • Special handling fees for oversized or hazardous cargo
  • Insurance premiums paid for cargo protection
  • Administrative fees for contract modifications
  • Services already completed or in-progress

Exceptions and Special Circumstances

Sound Speed Logistics reserves the right to make exceptions to this refund policy on a case-by-case basis. Special circumstances that may qualify for exceptions include:

  • Natural disasters or extreme weather events
  • Government-mandated road closures or restrictions
  • Medical emergencies affecting service
  • Errors made by Sound Speed Logistics staff
